Client testimonial Extra steps to achieve the finish "We asked Brian Fowler to quote on removing the roof and top sections of our concrete garage. The work was done diligently, with care and concern for the stability of the lower walls of the garage and retaining wall of our neighbour.
Brian took extra steps to achieve the finish he required by means additional concrete cutting.
He consulted us beforehand where extra costs might be needed. Once the job was finished he spent considerable time doing a further clean up and charged as quoted."

Concrete cutting, drilling & grinding - accurate & efficient!
You only need to make one stop for all your concrete cutting, drilling and grinding needs in the greater Wellington region. From all scales of internal and external cutting to drilling just about any size hole, you can leave it to us!
Cutting floors and roading For road and floor sawing, a 25hp self propelled road saw is utilised for large and unobstructed areas.
For small and or confined areas a wide range of handsaws are used, as required.
Interior sawing typically requires the use of electric or hydraulic saws.
For this application an electric 3 phase floor saw is available (often used for cutting channels in floors for supermarket refits), along with a number of handsaws, both electric and restricted water flow electric, along with a heavy duty 3 phase hydraulic handsaw.
A 3 phase electric wall saw is available for sawing large and particularly thick sections out of walls and floors. This saw has routinely sawn wall sections weighing up to sixteen tonnes and is capable of cutting to a depth of half a metre.
Small scale concrete cutting for interior structures The restricted waterflow handsaw is particularly useful for modifying interior structures such as fireplaces and altering walls and doorways in fully and partly furnished rooms.
This saws works by magnetising the blade so that the water is held on the blade until wiped off inside the cut by the cutting process itself.
This means that the water stays on the blade much longer, meaning that less water is required thereby making much less mess.
Deep, small scale concrete cuts no problem Deep and often small scale penetrations requiring no overcutting in the corners are handled with a bar-saw.
This saw is particularly expensive to operate due to the very high wear component of the chain and bar but does allow deep sawcuts in very tight locations such as under lintels, flush with floors, beams and walls.
A common application of this type of saw is to cut small but often deep penetrations in walls for the retro fitting of steel beams as bracing and loadbearing elements for earthquake strengthening of older buildings.
Drilling requires a very much smaller range of equipment, typically a number of different sized electric drill rigs and in our case a wide range of drill core sizes; ranging from 38mm through to 400mm.
These larger sized cores were used to drill most of the penetrations for the various coffee roasting premises around Wellington.
Penetrations can be made to a standard depth of 450mm, but with shaft extensions cores can readily be drilled to a depth of 2m or so but much beyond this depth accuracy starts to become an issue.
